The new project by Omar Kholeif, Maria Kramar and V–A–C, investigates the theme relating to time, its function and its link with the new forms of awareness, action and vision of the 21st century. The title Time, Forward! ironically refers to the revolutionary twentieth-century Soviet slogan that has become a famous novel, a film and a musical piece, recurrent in the decades and still today very well known in Russia. The exhibition, set up in the new Venetian location of the Russian V–A–C Foundation, presents new works commissioned to international artists, including emerging and established artists - Rosa Barba, Aleksandra Domanović, Valentin Fetisov, Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Daria Irincheeva, Alexandra Sukhareva, Christopher Kulendran Thomas in collaboration with Annika Kuhlmann, Adam Linder, Haroon Mirza, Trevor Paglen, Walid Raad, James Richards, Kirill Savchenkov and Where Dogs Run - who met in Venice at the birth of the project to discuss their own conception of time, and the speed and extent of knowledge turnover that occurs in the contemporary world.
