The exhibition of Swiss photographer Monique Jacot entitled The figure and its doubles, presented with Photo Elysée by the Fondation Bru as part of its program to support Photography, offers a careful selection of shots by one of the most important Swiss photographers. Exhibited at Palazzetto Bru Zane during the Venice Biennale, the photographs of Monique Jacot, who after studying at the École des arts et métiers in Vevey, began a career in journalism as a photojournalist, reveal the way in which Monique plays with the figure and its doubles, through editing and various mirror effects, giving her work an extremely poetic and almost dreamlike aesthetic. While in her work as a photojournalist, Monique Jacot juxtaposes different figures, capable of highlighting a social commentary at the center of her images.
