Loris Cecchini’s sculptures beyond geometry

Loris Cecchini. Leaps, gaps and overlapping diagrams

Loris Cecchini's original sculptures branch out and proliferate inside and outside the palace that houses the Museo del Settecento Veneziano, interacting with the eighteenth-century frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo, Jacopo Guarana, Giovanni Battista Crosato and Gaspare Diziani and amplifying their effect of visually breaking through the architectural cage. The works, consisting mostly of modular steel and aluminum installations, which are flanked by sculptural interventions of a granular nature, created with aluminum castings from molds composed of polystyrene microspheres that trace any shape by deteriorating its degree of definition, and works more akin to two-dimensionality, in molded resin with nylon velveteen, evoking patterns traceable in nature on microscopic and macroscopic scales, project the visitor into a world suspended between a discrete or continuous, analog or digital infinity of ever-changing repetitions of evocative elements belonging to different realms between nature, art and science.
